Direct Mail Campaigns
We work closely with clients in the development of their direct mail campaigns, providing counsel regarding the target audience, mailing lists and frequency of mailings. We also work with them to develop the size of the piece, the text, the overall graphic layout and the printing.
Shown here are three examples of oversized postcards that we created.
The
first, for Karen Rubin Photography, was sent to their own internal database
of previous clients. Within one week of the mailing, the photographer had
several bookings for photography sessions – in effect paying for the
entire campa ign. In addition, the cards are also used
as an informational brochure, placed in locations including obstetrical offices,
photo exhibits, art galleries and the Parade of Homes.
The second two examples were developed for Splashes of Color, an upscale hair salon. SOC wanted to introduce new residents to their salon. WWC developed a series of seven postcards. Each card was designed as a stand-alone piece; that is, they did not tell a story.
We also designed the cards to be so unique that the recipients would show them to their friends and business associates. The images were edgy, as was the writing. The text was humorous, with some cards featuring a bit of double-entendre. Each card also included some type of offer—either a discounted service or product.
News flash! The direct mail campaign created for Splashes of Color won a Bronze PEAK Award presented by the Colorado Chapter of the American Marketing Association.
Web Site Design
We work closely with our clients in the development of their Web sites,
helping to ensure consistency with their other marketing materials. We also
counsel them regarding the features that should be included for their target
audience(s).
We work with the clients to develop all of the site contents, including text
and graphic elements. In some cases, we have even taken some of the photographs
ourselves!
Shown here are two examples of Web sites we have created.
The first, for Table
Mountain Inn, is for a boutique hotel and restaurant. It features a slide
show of images on the home page, highlighting the hotel and surrounding area.
These images are changed as the seasons change. It also has a scrolling marquee
that is used to promote monthly specials at the hotel. The interior pages
provide images of each type of hotel room, restaurant menus and catering
information.
The second example is for Community Pet Hospital, a full-service veterinary clinic. The site provides detailed information about the services provided and biographies of the veterinarians and staff. In addition, a custom map to their location was created, to match the color scheme of the site.
Brand Identity Development
Whether they are an established business wishing to change their presence
or opening a new business, Wise Women Communications works with clients to
develop their corporate identity, including logo design, graphic standards,
stationery, etc.
We have worked with several clients who have been in business for many years
who wish to take their identity to the “next level.” In the examples
for Karen Rubin Photography and Splashes of Color, both had existing logos and
brand identities. However, they wished to change their images.
For Karen Rubin Photography, we developed a sophisticated logo for the business and also created two-sided business cards and stationery.
We created four different versions of the same logo for Splashes of Color, using the same color palate. This will enable them to brand their products and services with the same image, but provide a variety of colors they can select from. We also created an oversized business card for them, using the four colors. On the reverse of the card, the client’s next appointment is written in.
We have also created new brand identities for clients including Two Bears Pet Services, TexTeach, and Prevention Plus.
Public Relations
Wise Women Communications works with clients to promote their businesses
via the media. We write and distribute press releases for clients including
the Denver chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners,
the American Lung Association of Colorado, Web Service Company, Jim Saulnier
LLC, Standley Lake Massage Therapy and Dr. Denise Sandusky.
We work closely with our clients to develop the appropriate list of media contacts to send press releases to. Clients provide an outline of their information, which we then craft into press releases. Frequently, we do additional research on the subject to add further detail to these releases.

We also work with clients to develop full-length feature articles, including “ghost
writing” columns for clients.
In addition, we write and develop newsletters for our clients and consult with them regarding their overall promotional activities.
Marketing Collateral
No matter what our clients need to market their businesses, Wise Women Communications works with them to develop the materials.
We have developed materials including posters, advertisements and promotional inserts for clients. In all cases, we work closely with the client to ensure that the materials developed consistently reflected their key messages and the look and feel of their other marketing materials.
